Sorry everyone, for not posting here. I was kinda busy with daily life and only had time to put things on the Facebook page.


Here some highlights of what I have done:
Alm:
He is almost finished, only need to make the straps for the arm guards I have and then I can wear him again on Abunai (and participate in an act with him)

ConneR:
Huh, who is he? He is one of the artists in the mobile game "Cytus 2". I build his robotarm, his eyepatch (with leds) and I'm now starting to work on his wig. He is also for Abunai.

I've made some templates for the leg armor from Alm. I will try to make templates of every piece of armor ^^

Alm (Fire Emblem Echoes) - part 1

So... Yeah, I'm making Alm from Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. Here is the easy part, his armor (the clothing will be a different story...) It will be part of a whole group cosplay ^^

Roy (Fire Emblem Awakening style) - part 1

The armor for the Demon Hunter is coming along nicely and the sculpting is also going great. So, in the meantime I'm building a sword ^^ It's made of 3 layers of plastazote (soft foam for LARP weapons that I got from Games'n'Stuff) and hard EVA foam from Proptimum (the orange one). This time I'm trying to keep it all foam and nothing else... except for some beads and a tassel :P
It will be part of the build for next year ^^

Some people may know this, but I'm trying to make Roy from Fire Emblem (Awakening style). Why? Because he's awesome ^^ The shoulder strap also got more filigree.

Demon Hunter - Part 2

And we have some colour ^^ I sprayed it silver and added some fine sand in de recesses. Painted dark brown (Dryad Bark from Games Workshop) and black (Abaddon Black also from GW) and wiped most of it off to leave a dark hue in the recessed areas and darkening the silver. Drybrushing Jokarero Orange from GW on the sand for the rust effect highlighting the metal with Runefang Steel and it turned into this ^^

Next in line is the left arm guard and the upper arm guard and finding some leather to turn it in straps for the buckles

Something else

This is for a new cosplay I'm working on, I hope to finish it for next year Abunai (because I'm not good with sewing his complicated shirt)  I'm trying to get this finished in a year time, hoping to wear it at Abunaicon here in the Netherlands ^^

This is part of a belt that sits on the shoulder, I don't have enough (fake) leather to make the rest of it... :(
Once in a while I will post pictures of random parts of the build.

Demon Hunter - part 1

It's been a while since I posted something. The last few months where one of my most difficult times I ever had. I lost my father and soon after that my girlfriend broke up with me... The only thing that kept me going was my motivation to become the best painter for Warhammer and to win a Golden Demon (which I will try next year).

But now I'm busy with something else to get my mind straight. I'm still going to finish my Legend of Zelda projects, but not now. So now I'm trying to make the Demon Hunter from Diablo 3. He's my main and his outfit looks easier than the Horadrim (still difficult though...)

 

The right arm guard is almost done. I only have to add the last border and then it's time to fill in the gaps, prime and paint (and adding some buckles after painting). I also started on the (fake) leather part of the left arm guard. It's just some fake leather on thin 2mm foam to give it some form. I only have to add the buckles, maybe some details on it and some snap buttons in it to attach the armor on it. I think most of the armor will be attached with snap buttons ^^

We're still alive

We're not dead, it's more of a hibernation during the summer. We have found a new home so it's time to start packing things and getting everything ready for when we can move in.
I'm still busy making stuff like this late present for Tessa. It's still not finished because I need to grind a steel profile to shape for the soundbridge and than is the Harp of Ages playable ^^

But with a new house and a new workspace it's also time for a new logo. I hope you like it ^^
For the cosplay ideas I have... I think I can't finish any of it XD
I'm still busy with Wizzro and all of his tassels... I now have around 10 of those but I need around the 40 of those -.-

Link (Hero's Shade) - part 2

Here is some progress on the bird shoulderpads (birdpads) :P

It's still one birdpad at the moment.
The pad is made out of 2mm and 5mm foam and 1 layer of worbla. The inside is foam and I think I will keep it that way. Still needs a lot of work and 2 disks need to be added to the sides where the straps will be attached.

 First I made a template for the breastplate.

 Then cut these out in foam...

and then put some worbla on it ^^ Still needs a lot of work, but it looks like something now.

I am making now a new Razor Sword because the plasticard core of the old one broke... -.- It became as flexible as a cooked noodle XD I hope that the new wooden core will be stronger.

I will make a pattern with the measurements on it for this blade ^^

Caladbolg - Finished

And after 17 layers of latex paint it's finished ^^

 It's just as big as my Master Sword ^^

 Now the painting begins....

 First step: a base coat of black Plastidip

Then the latex...
Around 5 layers of colourless latex, 2 layers of brown/gold, 2 layers of gold and 1 layer of gold/silver latex...

It now looks like this, but it's not finished yet :)

Wizzro - part 1

This is my first post about Wizzro.

 Normally he looks like this ghost :P

First I tried to make the cape. I took the design from a cape that was lying around here and adjusted it. The inside fabric is black.

New year's resolutions

2015 is ending now, and as part of my new year's resolutions I'm gonna try to make at least 1 cosplay. The first one will be Wizzro from Hyrule Warriors. He is a ghost, but fortunately somebody on the internet made this drawing of him in human form ^^

And then there are these 2 other projects I'm gonna try to make. Lorath Nahr, the Horadrim from Diablo 3, and Link in the armor of Hero's Shade. Why? Because they're awesome! :D

Casting... -.-

I know one thing for sure... I hate casting clear resin stuff!
Trying to get the colours right, to make it smooth again and transparent, testing which glue I need...

But now I have this little batch for the Caladbolg and to finish up the crown of Aurora from Child of Light ^^

Something went wrong with the worbla, so now I'm using epoxy clay to bring back the shapes of the guard.

I also tried to cast the gems, but it looked so bad, I didn't even took a picture of it :P
